Nestled in the beautiful cradling hills of Central Virginia, Hat Creek Camp & Retreat Center is surrounded by natural beauty and opportunities. Facilities include: Lake Shalom for swimming and boating, picnic pavilions, wooded trails and open fields for games, exploration or celebration. Hat Creek is a short drive from outside diversions and recreational activities including historic Appomattox, Hat Creek Golf Course, and Patrick Henry’s Red Hill. Hat Creek has over 345 acres of rolling wooded hills, located five miles north of Brookneal, VA. There are two stream-fed lakes on this property. The largest lake (Shalom) is nine acres used for recreational activities. A four-acre lake (Bea) is for wildlife habitat. Buildings include a manager’s residence, maintenance building, dining hall, four summer-only hogans, four enclosed hogans that are three-season, two renovated and heated cabins, four bathhouses, Kris Kin farm house, picnic shelters, and a 40-bed all-season retreat center.
