Senior volunteers bag corn at the AARP convention in Miami. Earlier this month, Society of St. Andrew was invited to host a multiple-day Produce Drop at the National AARP Convention in Miami, Florida. On Thursday morning, we unloaded 40,000 pounds of sweet corn. By noon, 300 convention volunteers had bagged it, and it was on its way to the Feeding South Florida food bank.

A Talent for Feeding the Hungry

Dr. Nies and his students.Anyone can find some way to help SoSA feed the hungry. But very few can do so by playing The Complete Keyboard Partitas of Johann Sebastian Bach! This most-creative approach was taken on last November by long-time supporter, Dr. Craig Nies, when he presented two benefit concerts, performed by some of his students at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music.

New VBS Program Released

Abundance Orchard VBS ProgramAbundance Orchard, Year 2: New Testament has been released by Society of St. Andrew for use in churches of all denominations.

The New Testament program joins the Old Testament VBS program released last year. Each of the two offers a complete, stand-alone, all-in-one hunger-action themed VBS program. Use of the programs also helps to feed the hungry as they include the opportunity for mission offerings through SoSA. All materials are available free of charge.
