Join Society of St. Andrew staff and volunteers in fasting on Good Friday. This special time of prayer and fasting uses our physical hunger as a symbol of our spiritual hungers. It also serves as a vivid reminder of our many brothers and sisters who live with real, physical hunger every day.

Download or order our Good Friday Fast booklet for instructions and readings, reflections, and prayers for the mealtimes through which you are fasting.

Create in Me a Clean Heart

Daily Devotions

and Giving Program for 2014

In 2014, commit to a daily time of study, reflection, prayer, and giving during the season of Lent, the 40 days (plus seven Sundays) leading up to Easter, using devotional materials prepared by Society of St. Andrew.

Join with hundreds of congregations and thousands of individuals and families across the country and around the globe. Deepen your faith as you give to provide healthy food for our hungry brothers and sisters through the work of Society of St. Andrew during Lent, March 5–April 19, 2014.

Traditionally, Lent is a season of penitence, a time of asking God’s forgiveness for our sins, and seeking a new way of life in Christ, day by day, as we approach the death of Jesus and look forward to his resurrection.

Our 2014 title is Create in Me a Clean Heart, a phrase from Psalm 51:10: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. In the devotional booklet, you will find daily meditations and prayers that explore the themes of forgiveness and new life in Christ, written by people of deep and abiding faith: pastors and laypersons from many Christian traditions.

Devotional booklets and coin banks are free, and may be ordered in quantity. You may also download a copy of the devotional booklet for your e-reader or sign up to receive each day’s devotion by email.

Pre-order a Lenten Preview Packet for your congregation today. We will begin shipping these in December 2013. Place your order using the form on this page, send or call 800-333-4597.
