Lenten Booklet CoverThis Lenten Season, lead your family of faith into a period of self-examination and spiritual growth. Invite them to read and give in support of the Society of St. Andrew’s feeding ministries, reflecting Jesus’ own concern for the least, the last, and the lost.

Recognize the abundance of opportunities in your own life to do act justly and to walk humbly. Recognize those opportunities and do what is good as you give generously to provide healthy food for our hungry
brothers and sisters through the work of Society of St. Andrew during Lent, February 17 – April 4, 2021.

The deadline to order printed materials for your congregation is Monday February 1, 2021.

As we step into Lent in 2021, chastened by nearly a year of living with and through the Coronavirus pandemic, the theme of this year’s Lenten devotions may seem a bit strange—Walk Humbly. It comes from the Old Testament prophet Micah. Specifically, Micah 6:8:

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

This year’s theme calls us to practice self-examination, confession and repentance of our own sins. Micah was a prophet who spoke out for the poor and downtrodden. He protected them and shared God’s words with them. In light of high unemployment, increased hunger, and worldwide racial division caused by the pandemic and its effects, take time to feed your spirit and ask, what is the Lord requiring of you?

This booklet is a great resource for personal or congregational use. In each devotional booklet, you will find daily meditations, prayers and personal stories of growth that illustrate how God speaks to people through a variety of life experiences. These devotionals are written by people of deep and abiding faith: pastors, missionaries, and laypersons from many Christian traditions.

All of the materials are available at no cost. Seasonal Devotional booklets, pew envelopes, and coin banks are free, and may be ordered in bulk quantity. You may also download a copy of the devotional booklet for your e-reader or sign up to receive each day’s devotion by email.

Consider downloading and participating in the Good Friday Fast!

Good Friday Fast Cover

This special add-on allows you to not only read stories and celebrate Christ’s renewal in our lives but you also make it a participatory experience by fasting, if medically feasible. (Please always consult a physician before beginning to fast.)

Join the Society of St. Andrew staff and volunteers in fasting on Good Friday. This special time of prayer and fasting uses our physical hunger as a symbol of our spiritual hungers. It also serves as a vivid reminder of our many brothers and sisters who live with real, physical hunger every day. This would be an enjoyable period of focus to share with your Sunday school group or family.

This year’s Good Friday Fast is In Remembrance of Me!
