Join with us to end hunger in America by feeding God’s children right here at home.

A Covenant Congregation commits, first and foremost, to pray on a continual basis for the Society of St. Andrew and those we serve.

In addition to prayer, a Covenant Congregation commits to participate in at least one program from each of the three areas listed below. This level of partnership in ministry serves to engage the entire congregation in addressing hunger in America. Most importantly, the congregation not only will learn about hunger, but it will also make a real difference in people’s lives: Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.  – 1 John 3:18

To become a Covenant Congregation, commit to participate in at least one program from each column:

Food for the Body


Gleaning Network
Volunteer to glean fresh produce for delivery to the hungry.


Potato & Produce Project
Sponsor a 40,000 pound load of vegetables for your congregation to bag for delivery to local agencies.


Hunger Awareness Meal
Lead a Hunger Awareness Meal for your congregation, both adults and youth.


Meals for Millions
Contribute to this United Methodist Men mission project that provides truckloads of food.

God’s Word for the Spirit


Pray Daily
Congregations commit to praying each day for the success of farmers, volunteers, and SoSA to feed hungry people.


Lenten Devotions
Daily scripture and reflections guide readers through Lent and encourage participants to feed the hungry.


Advent Devotions
Daily devotions for the Advent season, written from the perspective of people of faith.


VBS Mission Project
to engage your Vacation Bible School theme – children learn about hunger at a level they can understand.


Bible Study on Hunger
Take this 12-session course exploring what the Bible says about hunger. Great for adult Sunday Schooll classes.

Opportunity for Action


Christmas Card Program
Your congregation can promote our Alternative Christmas Cards, as your donation feeds the hungry.


Miles of Pennies
Congregations collect a mile of pennies ($850) to provide more than 35,000 servings of food.


Change the World
Collect loose change weekly at worship, and send a check each month or quarter to our ministry.


Harvest of Hope Retreat
Your youth and adults attend a retreat where you learn, and glean, and feed the hungry.


Souper Bowl Sunday
Youth collect donations for the Society of St. Andrew hunger relief work on Super Bowl Sunday.
