Year 1, Old Testament
Day 1: Hospitality
Genesis 18:1-15 — Abraham and Sarah prepare a meal for unexpected guests

Day 2: Trickery
Genesis 25:29-34 — Esau sells his birthright for a bowl of stew
Key Verse: Teach us to count our days, that we may gain a wise heart. (Ps. 90:12)
Day 3: Obedience
Exodus 13:3-10 — The Hebrew people eat a quick meal before leaving Egypt
Key Verse: Do not fear, for I am with you. (Is. 43:5a)
Day 4: The Miraculous
Exodus 16 — God provides manna and quail in the desert
Key Verse: I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever. (Ps. 89:1)
Day 5: Hunger
1 Kings 17:8-16 — A poor mom shares her food with Elijah

Foundation Scripture—Luke 14:12-14
Jesus said also to the one who had invited him, “When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, in case they may invite you in return, and you would be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
Day 1: Breakfast
