Gleaning in New Jersey
We are volunteers interested in feeding the hungry and preventing food waste.
We glean blueberries, cranberries, corn, beans, and apples. We deliver the produce to agencies that serve and feed the needy in South Jersey, such as The Neighborhood Center in Camden. We typically glean for three hours on Saturday mornings or on a weekday if we have enough volunteers at that time.
Contact Rev. Jere Hopkins-Doerr, 609-284-3153 – or fill out a Volunteer Form and Jere will get your information.
We Work with South Jersey Farmers
Farmers are protected by the 1996 Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act. This law is aimed at encouraging the donation of food to nonprofit organization for distribution to needy individuals and families.
